Floculation
Floculation to ensure crystal clear water
During the use water becomes turbid in every swimming pool. This is caused by small particles of impurities. They are neutrally or negatively loaded, repel each other and do not sink to the bottom. These particles are so small that the sand filter cannot retain them. Floculant agents form flakes from these small particles before filter which are completely retained by the filter. This procedure in connection with regular back-washing ensures crystal clear water. In addition, a continuous floculation supports capacity of the disinfectant, particularly when using active oxygen systems.
Floculants can be used only with sand filters. For cartridge filters we reccomend coagulant.
